"Drawing with Graphite"

Graphite is a common mineral that leaves interesting traces on paper through abrasion. Frank Neubauer’s non-representational and reduced drawings with this material, created weeks before directly on the walls of the Kunsthaus, celebrate transitions from light to dark.

In doing so, they develop a narrative power and from time to time affect us like short disturbing images or a cinematic motif, as a battle of light and shadow. In the workshop we will experiment with many different paper grounds and play with impressive light-dark contrasts. A short guided tour of the room designed by Frank Neubauer is included and introduces us to a fascinating world that knows much more than just black and white.
