"There is strength in silence"

Have you ever heard of the word contrast? At first glance a boring and difficult word, this topic nevertheless has a lot of exciting things to offer. With a good load of drawing charcoal in our luggage, we set off on an amazing search for clues in the world of black and white drawing. How many different colour tones can we create? What significance do light and shadow have for my drawing? Similar to what the artist Frank Neubauer does, we will try to create a drawing with simple means, which will at first look like a film clip. Later, we will let the colour transitions merge with each other using an animation technique and experiment with light and dark. Beforehand, we will get to know Frank Neubauer’s impressive drawings and take a close look at them in order to gather initial ideas for our own black and white artworks.
